Community Gardens
Aquidneck Community Table manages over 80 community garden plots across the island. Community gardens provide members an opportunity to rent a garden plot for an annual fee and grow their own organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers in a supportive community setting.

How Community Gardens Work
Plot Rental Process
You can apply for a garden plot and be added to the waitlist by clicking the button above and filling out the form. Plots are assigned randomly using a lottery system each spring. To remain on the most current waitlist, you must fill out an interest form at the start of each year.
Growing Season
- Plot Assignment: February lottery system
- Garden Access: March through November growing season
- Winter Access: December through February for garden maintenance
- Renewal Priority: Current plot holders have first option to renew

Infrastructure
- Water Access: Spigots and hoses available at each location
- Tool Storage: Shared tool sheds with basic gardening equipment

- Parking: Available parking at or near each garden site
Growing Support
- Organic Methods: No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers allowed

1. Lottery Selection
Random lottery system ensures fair plot assignment for new and returning gardeners

2. Plot Assignment & Payment
Selected gardeners receive plot assignment and payment instructions
Assignment Notification: February/March
3. Garden Orientation
New gardeners attend orientation covering rules, resources, and community expectations
