Nourishing Healthier
People, Places, and Economies

We are building a new food system for Aquidneck Island where people grow their own food; support local farmers, fishers, and makers; and ensure no one goes hungry.

How Will you Join the Table?

Markets

for all

We connect local people to local food. Each year, we host over 50 farmers’ markets that attract more than 30,000 visits and support over 50 local businesses.

Gardens

for all

We offer land to new farming businesses and over 80 garden plots, across 5 locations, where neighbors share seeds, recipes, harvest, and stories.

Education

for all

We educate over 800 children and their families on growing and harvesting fresh foods through our school- and community-based garden programs.

ACT is Transforming Food Systems

We believe food is more than a necessity. Food is power. It shapes culture, builds community, and lays the foundation for a healthy future. Our goal is an Aquidneck Island where fresh food is abundant, affordable, and accessible to everyone, regardless of income, race, or background.

Fresh Food Access

Through weekly markets, SNAP partnerships, and programs that make local food affordable for all community members.

Food Production Support

Helping island farmers and food makers build sustainable businesses while connecting them with customers who value local food.

Community Growing Programs

From backyard gardens to school plots, creating spaces where people learn to grow their own healthy food.

Youth Leadership Development

Through hands-on programs that teach young people they have the power to shape our island’s food future.

Food Justice Advocacy

Working to change policies that address hunger at its root while building a more equitable food system.
